Summer Solstice

Updated: Jun 22, 2020

What a wonderful weekend this is.

I have three major clients that filed extensions for their taxes, so I always get them done during the summer. This year the IRS extended the deadline through July 15th, so it looked like they could file on time. I got two of them done this week -- earlier than in years past. The final one I can get done next week, so work should be pretty easy going for the remainder of the summer.

In addition to the huge buzz that Power Up Paynter gave with his win Saturday, on Friday we had a 3yo in California, Lane Way, who has made a career out of finishing third to top horses, finally put in a real stretch effort and finish second, losing by a long neck. That was a thrill in itself.

There were some wonderful words said about the "Adventure" series on a Facebook group. It's always such a nice thing to hear how interested readers are.

My sprinkler system wasn't working when I turned the water on in early May, so I stopped using it. Had to water with hoses, which meant moving them around a lot. A sprinkler guy couldn't come out until June 4th, because they were so booked up. Then I went on vacation and game back to a brown lawn. The guy did come out, and he really knew his stuff. It was expensive, but now not only do the sprinklers work, they work way better than they ever did before. Now my lawn is a lush green and getting good coverage. My neighbor told me today, "That's quite an impressive comeback from how it looked when you were on vacation."

Tomorrow when I get up, the Paramount channel will be airing the second season of "Yellowstone" for a ten-hour marathon. There will be a three-hour break, and then the third season will debut. I know the first episode will probably be pretty laid back and I can't expect everything discussed in the teasers, but I'm so looking forward to getting caught up in all the drama, to falling in love with Beth all over again, and especially loved hearing that the romance between her and Rip is a focal point of the season.

Life is good. **happy sigh**
