Nice little things.
I love the quiet of the morning. I usually get up around five. I want to start waking up around four to get more of that quiet time.
Sometimes when I look out the back glass door, I see one of my little poodly girls resting quietly on the patio. All my dogs enjoy each other, but it's always just one at a time on the patio. I love that they are all dogs that can be snuggly and playful, but also that they're each independent enough that they can enjoy soaking up the sun without needing anyone else around.
Yesterday I drove on one of the main roads in my neighborhood and it was newly paved. Never saw any construction. One day it was the same old road, then the next time I drove on it, the pavement was freshly new.
I can remember a time when technology was escalating so quickly that any new computer purchase was out of date in some form or another within a year. My current laptop is 3yos this month and I don't feel it's in any way outdated.
In my horse racing game, I have a 2yo turf sprinter, Protagonist Story, that is undefeated in four stakes starts and looking like he might be something special. I thought of his name because he's by Danny Pink (which my research says is a Dr. Who character) and out of my mare named Nice Composition. (She is by a stallion named Composer and out of my mare Nice Article.) Danny Pink was looking like a failure as a stallion and I tried to auction him with a reserve of $500,000. No one was interested. Now I'm glad he's still mine.
I love youtube.
One of the biggest expenses of betting on horse races has traditionally been buying a Racing Form with the stats on the entries. Now I have my betting account with a website that doesn't charge you for the Racing Form if you make just one bet -- no minimum. That's a lovely thing when I just want to look at the horses for a single race.
I live in an area that has hard water. So, every few years about three-fourths of the holes in the shower head become clogged, so water is only coming out of a small portion of the head. I read somewhere to put vinegar in a baggie, and wrap the baggie around the shower head while making sure the holes of the shower head are dipped in the vinegar. Leave it for two hours. It sounded far-fetched, but it worked like magic. No scrubbing or taking the shower head apart. Remove the bag from the shower head, turn on the water, and water comes through all the holes. Amazing!
I guess I was having stiffness in my neck, because a few years ago I ordered a My Pillow. I don't remember ordering, just that it arrived and it looked like an ordinary pillow. I thought, "Well, that's sixty dollars wasted." But I used it and couldn't believe it! Not only was there no longer any stiffness in my neck, but not in any other part of my body. It's incredible how much of a difference it makes when waking up in the morning.
The world is wonderful and I'm looking forward to discovering more wonderful things, and experiencing more wonderful things. But first I need to go to the bank, to deposit money that somebody has paid me. How wonderful is that?
