Charlotte Frost in Pre-Fandom Times, early 1980s.
I went to college at the University of Arizona a few years later in 1984, which is when I got into fandom, which was initially Kirk/Spock fandom.
This photo was taken by my friend Connie (who later married a rancher in Montana). It was at the entrance to the third-rate Centennial Race Track, south of Denver, Colorado. The track was torn down a few years later and now condos and office buildings reside there.
I was always a mildly chunky kid, so these years were my slimmest. I was riding regularly, since I owned an American Saddlebred gelding that I boarded within 20 minutes of my apartment. I was also having a wild affair with my boss, who had also been my high school Sociology teacher. (At that time, he was living with another high school teacher of mine.) He ultimately is the one who paid for me to go to college, where I majored in Animal Science - Race Track Industry.
