Yesterday, retired Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens visited the great mare Beholder, where she's retired in Kentucky. He once described riding her as "It’s like I’m driving a Mac truck with the speed of a Porsche and the brain of a rocket scientist”.
A few posts back, I had a photo of Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith with the great mare Zenyatta. Smith is still riding, and he and Stevens are best friends. Both have ridden many outstanding horses of all genders, but both are probably best known for "the girls" they've had successful partnerships with.
