I always get such a chuckle out of Derby week.
Dozens of journalists and other interested parties stand around watching the Derby contenders get their baths, as though it's the most fascinating thing they've ever witnessed. Never mind that racehorses pretty much get a bath every morning of their careers. It's not only a presumably "feel good" time for the horses, but it gives the grooms an opportunity to notice any minor injuries that might have developed during their morning exercise.
